I did enjoy this quickie treadmill workout this morning. I’m sure I’ll post more about it later!

If I lived in Colorado, I’d totally be diggin’ this decor. Or, if I lived in Ohio, I’d still be diggin’ this decor, it just makes me think of Colorado…

Chai Pumpkin Spice Thumbprints

On my way into work this morning, as I was sitting in traffic, I heard this song. I know it’s pretty ridiculous and dumb, but this morning it was great! Ha

I have heard rumors of this, and I personally love it. I think it’s a great idea! Instead of listing calories they would list how much exercise it would take to burn the calories consumed.

And finally, I’m sorry for another Tebow entry… But the guy is just good.

I read recently on Relevant Mag’s website an article about Tebow. The guy made a great point – are we praying for Tim? He is in the spotlight and is battling to be a good example. Don’t you think the enemy hates this? He is under so much pressure to keep this up. Any little mistake he makes will be magnified, no doubt. Pray for the guy!

Have you heard that LMFAO song “Girl, look at that body – I work out!”

Let’s be honest. I don’t like that song, but that part is great.

In the spirit of honesty, I DO like Justin Bieber’s version of “Drummer Boy.” I like it enough to share with you!

How does this not make you want to go workout hard?

I wanted to share some of my recent workouts for you to enjoy or laugh at. One time, this trainer at the gym told me I looked dumb when I did lunges on the TM at full incline. He was sort of joking. I was sort of not joking when I thought to myself “I might look dumb but look at my bum!” It’s a good workout, people! I rather look silly and get a great workout than look great and get a lousy workout! Are ya with me?!

I’m likin’ the Tabata workouts.
TM Tabata:

  • Incline – 5.5 (highest on my TM is 15)
  • Speed – 7.8
  • For the rest period I just step to the sides of the TM.
    • Be careful getting back on since it’s moving so fast!!!

Quickie Morning Cardio (10 minutes)

  • 30 seconds butt kickers
  • 30 seconds burpees
  • 30 seconds high knees
  • 30 seconds jump rope (or pretend like I do!)
  • 30 seconds floor jacks
  • 30 seconds jumping jacks

[Repeat 3x]

  • 1 minute high-plank

So, I tried the No-bake Gingerbread Snowballs I mentioned earlier. They are SUPER easy to make… But I personally didn’t really like the combo of gingerbread and peanut butter. I love both of those ingredients, but not the combo. I think it kind of ruined the tastiness of each individual flavor. They are easy, which is nice! And others may just love them! We’ll see!


music, baseball, and a bum ankle

The title is backwards from the content. First, I’ll share some ankle news.

I went to a sports med doc yesterday for my injured ankle. The past week had been rough. The muscle seemed to be getting better but it was so sore to the touch.

The first guy to see me was an extremely friendly student doctor. He was so nice and caring. He’ll make a great doc one day soon! He talked to me about what happened and then did some things to figure out the injury.

Then the doc came in, asked similar questions and did similar tests, and some new ones where he took his silly thumb and pressed on the parts that I said hurt. OUCH. Really… painful…

Got some x-rays and he concluded it was a small fracture of the fibula (I think… Or tibia) and also a sprain. I now have crutches.

Which I didn’t use (oops, sorry Doc, it’s just awkward…) when I went to the Mat Kearney/Owl City concert last night.

I have loved Mat for years now and have never been able to see him live. I tried once, when I was 20. Went to the venue, only to be turned away because I was not 21… Boo.

He was fantastic. And he sang his new song, Hey Mama, which is one of my favs. He sings about his now wife, and how he met her at Anthropologie(she obviously is awesome and has great taste!). Cute. But now I’ll have to look for a new singer/songwriter to oogle over.

Chris August is in the running. He’s funny and often gets online and does some little shows and chats from his apartment in Nashville. And my friend lives near him and has hung out with him. I better have her hook us up. I’m pretty much joking. He seems funny and sings great songs… But my hopes are still set high for this guy:

I have about 150 (90% of that guy) photos from one of the Cincinnati Red’s opening series games I went to alone. Yea, I don’t mind going to Reds games alone. I thought it was actually awesome. I could really sit wherever I wanted because it was just me with a big camera. I looked official…

Anyhwo. No gym for me today. Doc said I’m not allowed to do any physical activity, besides upper body and core, until I can “walk pain free for 2 weeks.” And then only can I start with the bike. And then elliptical. And finally, running. So maybe a month? Gross. How am I ever supposed to do this?!

Anyone have tips for good cardio without your legs!? I plan on doing some punching. 🙂
